does getting a tattoo damn me and forbid me from entering heaven?

August 26th, 2009

its not a gothic tattoo just symbolic of things i want to remember bout my childhood things i never want to forget. im leaving for college full of new starts and i want to have these things close to me always.

NO! I do not believe so. If God were so particular then a majority of believers would be in trouble. We are not perfect, we are flawed. We have flaws and if God watches over us then he is there to forgive us for what we have done wrong.

My sister and i want matching tattoos any ideas?

August 26th, 2009

We are planning on getting tattoos for the upcoming xmas.We are bestfriends and do everything together and want something that represents sisters or friendship, any suggestions?

Re: Getting A New Tattoo

Talk to a tattoo artist and bounce some ideas off of them. Check out the shops in your area and find one that meshes with your personality and your levels of cleanliness (watch them start a new tattoo and watch them switch out the needles and cover everything…).

I would really suggest going to a website like http://www.theartoftattoo.net where you can find a really unique tattoo. You can get about 2000 images for twenty bucks on CD Rom. I guarantee that you will not find tattoo flash any cheaper. I was really impressed with their art selection.

Is it okay for a straight guy to have a tattoo on a nautical star tattoo on his abdomen beside his hips?

August 26th, 2009

My boyfriend wants to get a tattoo of a nautical star beside both of his hips in the area below his belly button. I think its a good idea and he does too, but will other people like it or will where he’s getting it look gay / feminine?

that’s not a "gay" tattoo at all! besides that: why do you care?? if he wants it and you think it’s gonna look cool, enjoy the tattoo!

Do you have any tattoos of your zodiac sign?

August 19th, 2009

or are you planning on getting any?

As for me ..getting a lion on my back
around may. ;D
whatever works!
lol black…

I work in medical research so I’ve seen what tattoos look like when people age. It’s not for me. I prefer my cartouche necklace which was custom made for me in Egypt through the Rosicrucian Society in San Jose, California. It is solid 18 karat gold, and has black inscriptions of my Sun sign, Ascendant sign, Moon sign, and all the rest of the planets in their signs. It’s about 2" long and 1/4" in width. Next to each sign is a tiny genuine stone of that sign. When I do not wear that, I have a solid gold Nefertiti necklace that was bought for me from the Concorde Collection. Then I also have a charm amulet necklace from the Tel El Armana period of Egyptian history. No tattoo has ever inspired me as much as this cartouche, and I much prefer jewelry to tattoos. I know that many other people like tattoos, but I don’t understand why they wouldn’t rather have jewelry or some other investment such as stock. I think it has to do with my Sun, Mercury and Jupiter in Capricorn.

Your lion does sound cool. My niece has a dragon up and down her entire thigh.

Do goth people have or get colored tattoos? I always thought I’d only get black, but then loved the way color

August 19th, 2009

looked more vivid. Does this make sense? Anyone else feel the same? Can you still be gothic and have color tattooed on you?
Thanks!

If you love the look of the color, then go for color! Your tattoos should be about what you like, not what your friends or culture (in this case I am talking about other gothic folk) might define you as. Also, individuality is always a bonus (I was more punk than goth, but i think the same idea applies), and if someone accuses you of not being "goth enough" because you have a colored tattoo, tell him you didn’t get into it to conform to other peoples ideas of what you should or shouldn’t be :).

Can you help me find picture ideas for matching tattoos?

August 19th, 2009

Hello,
My friend (female) has talked me into getting matching tattoos. We have known each other since high school, and worked at the same place for years. We have gone through it all!

Can you help me find ideas for matching tattoos? Something that has to do with good friends, nothing overly girly since I will be having it tattoo’d on me also.

Thanks for your help.
Thanks for the ideas, but I dont want you to tell me what to get, im simply asking for ideas. I understand this is permanent.

Get a matching tribal tattoo. Not overly girly or overly masculine, and the ideas are virtually endless. Here’s a website for some inspiration.

Whats the meaning behind star tattoos and or nautical stars?

August 19th, 2009

Sailors would tattoo nautical stars on their forearms as a good luck symbol in hopes of returning home. It is also a popular tattoo design used by punk rockers, soldiers, and others, mostly as a symbol for finding one’s way through life.
