where is the best place to get a nautical star tattoo?

April 13th, 2010

i was thinking on the back of my neck but im not sure? does the back of your neck have any special meaning?

No where those are lame and everyone has them. Be more Original. The back of the neck doesn’t have any specific meaning nor does anywhere on the body. The tattoo is what should have the meaning.

What is the significance or meaning of the Nautical Star tattoo?

April 6th, 2010

I’ve heard many different meanings lately (over the past year). It’s supposed to be guidance towards your goal or your home. Five pointed stars have also been associated with a symbol of femininity.

I want to get the nautical star tattoo what colors should i get?

March 30th, 2010

My favorite colors are purple blue red and pink. If you have any ideas please let me know! Thanks:)

Well if you can decide on a fifth color you can have the outline black and fill in the spaces of the five points with the colors. Would make yours unique since nautical star is pretty popular.

Would getting a nautical star tattoo today, just make me look like a dork?

March 16th, 2010

I already have 2 tattoos, 1 on each shoulder blade, and I was considering maybe getting 2 nautical stars on my chest, basically the opposite side of my back tattoos.

Are nautical stars played out?

roughly how much would 2 small nautical stars cost?

and ideas to put a spin on the nautical star?

well they are pretty common i have tattooed hundreds. don’t abandon the idea. ask the artist to show u or draw up a couple different nautical stars with a cool twist. and if he cant draw something up then maybe he shouldn’t be working in a tattoo parlor. its the artists job to help you. i cant really give u a price tattoo shops in smaller towns typically charge less. every artist is different though and so is their price. it all depends on size, detail, and how many colors.

Significance of nautical star tattoo?

March 9th, 2010

I have been wanting to get a tattoo for a while for my son. He was born in May and he has really changed my life, so I was thinking of getting a nautical star (for how much he was changed the direction of my life) that is black and green (for May birthstone). However, I have recently read that the nautical star is the new tattoo for women of… ill repute, to say nicely. What is your opinion of this?

Nautical stars are whatever you want them to be. But I really like these explanations:

I think it would be a wonderful tattoo for you to have in dedication to your song. Placement is key, too, put it somewhere inconspicuous, somewhere you can cover or show off at your discretion. You might also place his initials somewhere near the tattoo, if you want. I think that would be cute.

But your body, your tattoo - do whatever you want with it, that’s the cool thing about a tatt. It’s yours. =]

Where should I put a nautical star tattoo at?

March 2nd, 2010

well i really want a nautical star or known as a skater star but I’m not sure where i should get it. I’m thinking of getting it in my inner wrist but I’m not sure.

if you can give me some choices that would help

Thanks

Wow, there are a lot of immature responses to this question. I love nautical stars - they are beautiful and very Americana. Traditional tattoos are my favorite. I’ve seen nautical stars on the ankle, that looks pretty. Shoulder would work, or between the shoulder blades on your upper back. Base of the neck, upper chest, arm, wrist - all would work. Just think about how visible you want it to be - is there a chance you’ll ever work a job where tattoos aren’t allowed? Also think about aging - areas by bone may hurt more but they also will stretch less than fleshier places. Also, anyplace by the abdomen will stretch if you have kids later. Good luck!

Nautical star tattoos…. A sign of homosexuality?

February 23rd, 2010

I heard this…Is it true and why?

What? News to me. Sounds like the whole "earring in the left ear makes him gay." When, of course, in other parts of the country it is the opposite.

How much do you think a very small, red and black, nautical star tattoo would cost?

February 16th, 2010

I’m not sure on the location of the tattoo but most likley it won’t be any bigger than an inch. I want it to be red with a black outline.

Well, most places have a minimum amount you have to pay, regardless of size. If you go to a good place than 80 is usually the minimum pay. But sometimes the minium is 60. Sometimes if you call ahead of time & say you’re bring a group of people, you’ll get major discounts!

nautical star tattoos…..?

February 13th, 2010

any tattoo ideas that would look totally awesome that include one
im getting it to represent me finding my way and that after everthing ive been through wich was alot i found my way and no matter what happened to me and what will happen in the future i can always find my way

I agree that they have become way to trendy and overdone.. but they are still a traditional tattoo that have a LONG history… not tied to the sea so much anymore but they’ve got so many other historical ties too.
I don’t know what ideas to give you. I’ve got three red/black (and the colors I chose while typical have a much broader historical meaning) nautical stars that span the length of my forearm accompanied by four hollow stars with borders. A banner runs under the cutouts and over parts of the nautical stars and has the names of my family on them (five different names). And a bunch of biker dust to top it off. I love it.

Whatever you do to add to the nautical star(s)… make sure its original drawn and not flash. And PLEASE tell me you’re not doing this because of Tila Tequila!! cause that would suck.
