<< I Want a Nautical Star Tattoo, any location ideas?

short quote to go with my nautical star tattoos?>>

I got a red and black nautical star tattoo on the back of my arm above my elbow and its starting to heal and i can see the finished product cuz the scabbing is gone and the red doesnt seem strong on there, it looks like a really light red, Do I need a touch up on this tattoo?

It’s healing, that is very normal. Wait about 4-6 weeks for it to heal completely. The ink is about 1/16 of an inch below your skin, and right now, the top layer is repairing itself from the damage caused during the tattoo process. It is old damaged skin, becoming new, weak skin. The skin usually sheds every 30 days, and when you get a tattoo, it disturbs the natural process. It’s very normal for a red tattoo to appear faded or even pink at times. Give it time to heal completely, and if it still looks lie that after about a month, go back and have the artist look at it for you. If it needs touched up, they should do it for free if they stand behind their work. Best wishes!!!

its VERY normal for the coloring to not be as bright–let the tattoo finish healing and pealing and stuff before you go back. I have a butterfly tattoo on my lower back; but its a symbolization of some things so I had a dragon fly put into the butterfly–looks very nice but I wanted the difference of the dragon fly inside the butterfly to be noticeable so they used hot pink for the butterfly wings and purple for the drangon fly’s wings—well the pink was "darker" than I wanted….BUT after it healed and finished pealing it was PERFECT!!! nice and bright :) so let it heal, then if you still don’t like the color, go back

Your tattoo isn’t healed yet. Wait a full six weeks to assess if the color is right.
