I assume the star is to represent your "famous guitarist" goal? The whole star=famous thing makes sense, but the only thing I think about when I see a nautical star is the ocean. And nautical stars are so common. Perhaps you should ask the tattoo artist to design a slightly more original looking star. Just a suggestion.

   I like tattoos. I have a 4.5 in nautical on my ribs. To me it means, like sailors using the stars to navigate home. Life to me is a journey home and even though the water isn’t always smooth, there are alot of storms, I will always end up back in the arms of those I love and that love me.

   As long as you have a reason for wanting it and you are adult enough to make the decision for yourself, go for it, and who is anyone to try to stop you.
