What is the significance or meaning of the Nautical Star tattoo?

<< I want to get the nautical star tattoo what colors should i get?

where is the best place to get a nautical star tattoo?>>

I’ve heard many different meanings lately (over the past year). It’s supposed to be guidance towards your goal or your home. Five pointed stars have also been associated with a symbol of femininity.

I think…A nautical star tattoo was common among the sailors, back in the 50’s. The sailors would get a star tattoo because when they were out at sea, the got their directions from stars. The star tattoo was a symbol that they would always find their way back home.
I have a few nautical star tattoos, I really like them.

The nautical star is exactly what the name is. Way back in the day it was a star commonly found on sailors. It goes along with the whole north star business. It was supposed to symbolize that they will always find there way home/to there women. It was developed by an old school tattoo artist and replicated from there on.
